Here are my sources of inspiration for future contenders to replace the loveseat. I have a huge crush on both the green and gold models.

Lisa, Linked over from AT. Didn't realize we both lived in Richmond! Have you visited the scratch/dent/sale section of La Differance down in Shockoe Bottom? We look around every few months and have seen several small sofas circulate through that align nicely with some of your inspirations.
Thanks for the heads up. I actually work two blocks from La Diff, but I try not to tempt myself that way. I really can't justify the expense right now. I freak out when I have to write a check over $50 for anything.
Have you checked out FourWalls? I went in once and they have some cool stuff in the basement.
Now that you've mentioned it, we've actually been doing the same. We realized we'd been taking out of town friends to LD like you might visit a gallery, but hadn't actually bought anything in... ever? No wait, three years of occasional visits have yielded one simple office chair, but as you say, the temptation is best avoided.
Thanks for the FourWalls rec. I'm not familiar; I'll check it our once we are looking for something new (we're in a stage of painting and reclaiming old stuff right now).
In the realm of a less-than-50.00 purchase, (in case you haven't already seen it) -- the Richmond Craigslist furniture section http://richmond.craigslist.org/fur/.
