Today, I am going to post pictures of my loveseat as it really is. No slipcover, no arty-from-a-distance shots. Full-on graphic pictures.
Before I do, I want you to be fully aware that I bought it years ago for $50 from a friend who was moving to California. Since then, it has been in my possession for at least four years. Before that, she had found it at a Goodwill store and owned it herself for at least two. So it is old.
OLD.When I had owned it two years, I decided to zip off the cushion covers and handwash them.
Bad Idea. Since then they have increasingly degraded.
So be prepared. I warned you.
Here it is without the back cushions. I might get rid of those or double them up for the seat portion of the sofa, and create more loose pillow-like cushions for the back. As it is now, they slide down behind the seat cushions and shove them off the front of sofa.
Here is where I cut/ripped off the hated ruffled skirt. The legs will be sanded according to what I decide to do with the sofa reshaping and the final fabric color choice.
That wasn't so bad now was it?
In fact, it doesn't look as bad as I thought.
However, it will be quickly redraped with the too-dark purple slipcover from months ago, until a plan has been created.
As you know I don't have the money to buy a new sofa, definitely not like the ones that I want.
Therefore, this will be a
BIG PROJECT for the Shelter home.

Hi, I really like the shape of your couch. The cushions are a bit shlumpy looking but you can replace the foam inside right? Have you decided on a color for the new covering? I can't wait to see what you're gonna do with it.
This sofa is one of fabulous sofas that I want to see at my place...
