Has anyone seen this simple beauty?

I saw a church on Flickr and it haunts me sometimes. It has so much personality. I work with architectural history in Virginia and come across beautiful buildings everyday. But only buildings that are located in Virginia. I know nothing about upstate New York, never been there, in fact.

I contacted the photographer and she wasn't able to remember the exact location. I tried to search from the information she did give me but I came up with way too many possibilities and no pictures to go along with them. Has anyone out there in blogland seen this church near Ithaca, New York, perhaps near the village of Lansing? I just need to know the name. I'll do the research on the rest of the details; date, architect, history, etc. Thanks in advance for your help. L.

That's beautiful.

I don't know the church, alas, though I've been through that general area a few times. It looks very much like the sort of thing that was built in my area (Northeast Ohio) in about the first third of the 19th cenutry. If it were around here, I'd say 1830s, but given the location, it might be a bit earlier.

Thank you for sharing.

If you have too much free time, you might try browsing the Historic American Buildings Survey for churches in that area - I'd be surprised if this one had escaped their attention.

We have a church in town here that's very similar. I'll try to snap some pics sometime.
